My Adventure Into Blogging

Blogging takes so much time. I wonder how many hours most people spend blogging. I can see you spend 2/3 of your time blogging on other people’s blogs and 1/3 on your own, but what does that mean. Does that mean I spend 2 hours blogging on other people’s blogs and one hour on mine? Or does it mean I spend 40 minutes blogging on other people’s and 20 minutes on mine? Or can it be as simple as starting out posting one comment (like this) on mine and finding 2 happy go luck people to leave a blog on?

What do you think? If you’re an experienced blogger, how many hours do you spend blogging?

Hi, Alisa! Yes, blogging and regular posting can eat into your writing time if you’re not careful. The trick is to find a healthy balance of networking, blogging, and most importantly, writing. Don’t let blogging manage you, rather, YOU manage IT. Set a schedule; don’t fret if you feel out of sync for awhile. You’re going to do great!

I am just starting out too and I know I don’t spend as much time as I should. I have other things to do as well and I don’t always have time!! I know you have to spend a lot of time though, probably like a part time job type time frame.

    • Good News! I found Alan Rinzler’s blog where I left a blog post asking about the time spent posting. His answer: most people spend about two hours blogging. I think I have been spending a lot of time because I’m trying to find my way around. Not only does it take time to learn my way around WordPress, but finding blogs that I have an interest in is time consuming. But, maybe (hopefully) it will get easier and I’ll spend less time on blogging and more time on writing. 🙂
